Question: How do I start my own business and in another state?

I want to open up my own business.Where people gather to hear poetry and maybe other forms of art. But I am young and very inexperience.How do I go about finding a building and getting the money. Who could possibly help me.I have great ideas. I would like to first open my business in either New York,California, or Atlanta.Can anyone help me.

Both those sites are like Business 101 and more; And yes, start with the business plan.

But, is this similar to the coffee house concept back in the ’50s and ’60s…I believe those places sustained themselves by selling exotic drinks, and I think some places charged admission. I wasn’t around then but I wish those types of places could make a comeback somehow. So best of luck to you.

Who could help? I might suggest finding someone who could “mentor” you, someone who is in the same type of business you’re looking at(comedy clubs come to mind) and who wouldn’t view it as competition so, probably out of your area; Depending on your time frame you could “work” for him/her for no pay if he/she would “teach” you the whole business.

Question: Want to buy a property and set up to rent out for weddings, events, meetings etc. Any ideas???

Looking for a business idea and thought that possibly purchasing a property and setting up in a different way than all the rest of places I have seen.

Being recently engaged and looking myself and along with my fortune bride we have not been very impressed with the options. So we thought this might be a good idea for a little startup we could do and set it in a way that is unique from the others.

I am looking for any suggestions on what we could do to set us apart from the crowd. If this is something that does eventually happen my Bride and I will be the first to break it in……

Answer: I got married in a Civil War era building that had been renovated into a modern art gallery space. It was only open for private events and very cool.

I also considered a couple of local Victorian homes, but the effect was too formal/stuffy for me.

One thing I didn’t have but would have liked is some green space. It would be great if you offered the option for either indoor or outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
